Your Business Plan - " ROADMAP" To Higher Profits

Written business plans are often ingored at all costs by entreprenurs who prefer to let their idea " incubate" further in their mind. Putting words and numbers to it adds a stark reality to the process and a strong sense of commitment. However, learning to share the vision with others ( lenders, partners, investors, and key employees ) is one way to create " buy-in " and support along the critical path of achieving a profit during the startup or expansion process.
Potential new small business owners should arm themselves with all tools and equipment at their disposal. " Failing to plan is planning to fail" as has been often repeated. That certainly applies in running a business as well. Choosing not to plan is indeed a choice , but not a wise one. Even businesses that have succeeded beyond the first few years should do diligence on keeping their plan updated. What went right? What went wrong?
The University of Houston / Coastal Plains Small Business Development Center office serves clients in Wharton, Texas. We provide free, confidential business consulting services, assistance in writing your business planning, addressing marketing concerns, accessing capital for startups or expansions, commercializing your technology, and training on a multitude of topics.
